This beautiful little book is the kind of book one reads when one is coming to terms with the finality of life as we know it. It is an enabling gift, and a "grace-full" book. It opens the door for reflection with those who are dear to us--an opening for us to experience gratitude for what has been, peace for what is, and a waiting for the dawn that is to come. My husband . . .had picked up your book at [a bookstore] one visit then set it back. Days later we purposely returned to purchase it. He felt it was so meaningful and assumed it to be useful in the future since we are in our 50's now and "approaching that stage of life". When I looked at it and read it, it was like I was sitting with you . . . once again in December 2000 just after my diagnosis of breast cancer. You spoke so many truisms to me at that time which comforted and encouraged all the while acknowledging the reality of a life threatening disease. Since then I have learned to walk with the "enemy". I have regained hope and attempt to walk with others who need it. And your words spoken to me then stay with me now. It is wonderful to see many of these same sentiments in writing now for others to benefit. This book Linda is not only valuable for those imminently facing the end of life but for all who want to participate in this journey called "life" more fully.
